Sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Talaat Mostafa Group Opening of the first Madinaty Book Fair
Under the slogan "Reading as Water and Air", the Madinaty Book Fair was opened in its first session, which started from Tuesday evening, November 30 and will last until December 10 in Madinaty Central Park, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and the Talaat Mustafa Group.
The exhibition was opened by Dr. Haitham Al-Hajj, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Book Authority, and Professor Mona El Helw, Chief Commercial Executive of the Talaat Moustafa Holding Group.
Dr. Haitham El-Hajj said that the exhibition is the first of its kind in new cities and is part of the plans to expand book fairs throughout Egypt, including open Spaces and green Spaces, to encourage reading and spread knowledge. He added that it was a step in enriching the cultural scene and consolidating Egyptian identity in the new republic, as it witnessed the participation of a range of governmental, private and international publishing houses. He explained that the activities of the City Book Fair include daily artistic and cultural activities with the participation of the various bodies of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture.
For her part, Mona El Helw stated that the exhibition held in Madinaty comes out of the belief of the Talaat Moustafa Group in the importance of reading in building the cultural identity of future generations and what it contributes to building civilization, raising awareness and creating generations of creators. Reading is a window into the world, broadens horizons, creates generations of innovators in all fields, and contributes to the building of homogeneous and elegant societies. This is part of the group's vision and belief in the importance of community responsibility, which motivates it to continually improve the living standards of its people in order to achieve sustainability.
