SODIC and Tawasol celebrate 10 years of Education & Community Development in Ezbet Khairallah

Cairo, Egypt: 11 April 2023: SODIC proudly celebrates 10 years of creating scalable impact in education and community development with Tawasol Egypt in Istabl Antar in Ezbet Khairallah.

For over ten years SODIC has been supporting Tawasol in running a community school for children who had escaped schooling through an integrated community development approach. The school provides children with an education and vocational and performing arts training, in addition to acting as a community hub where community members produce handmade products that Tawasol markets and sells, generating revenues for the community.

Over the past decade, SODIC has contributed to changing the lives of over 650 beneficiaries. From covering the running expenses of the school, to contributing to the purchase of the land plot that is now home to Tawasol’s new state-of-the-art school in Ezbet Khairallah. The new school is built over 1,050 m2 with a capacity to host over 500 students, finished and equipped at international school standards.

“This year SODIC proudly celebrates 10 years of partnership with Tawasol. Over this decade we have watched the community school grow to become the school it is today. The impact of the school goes beyond the children, who have become self-actualized through Tawasol’s strong and empowering program that builds their character, acumen and confidence. The school’s impact is felt throughout the community through job creation and the palpable impact on culture.” said Ayman Amer, SODIC’s General Manager.

Education is one of SODIC’s strongest social responsibility platforms and delivers on the core of SODIC’s strategy of creating shared value for its wider communities. Since its inception, SODIC has taken pride in being an active corporate citizen committed to playing a role in the betterment of the lives of over 9,000 families annually through a group of social development programs and initiatives.
