CDIS-EGYPT’s First Edition Brings Together Renowned Industry Experts, Leading Companies and Global Governmental Institutions Specialized in Cybersecurity and Intelligence


Cairo, May 9, 2023 –Egypt Cybersecurity & Data Intelligence Systems Conference and Expo (CDIS-Egypt) has announced a distinguished lineup of speakers for the upcoming conference and exhibition taking place from Tuesday, 16 May to Thursday 18 May 2023 at Egypt International Exhibition Center (EIEC). Renowned international experts, prominent local figures, and representatives from UNICEF will participate in the event. 


Organized for the first time in Egypt, CDIS is held under the auspices of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, with the unwavering support of various governmental entities and private institutions, including the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, the Suez Canal Authority, and The Egyptian Supreme Cybersecurity Council (ESCC), the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA), the National Authority for Management and Investment, the Egyptian Computer Emergency Readiness Team (EG-CERT), the General Assembly of the Computer Emergency Response Team at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Helwan University, and Port Said University. A high-level delegation from the Egyptian Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Interior will participate in the conference and exhibition.  



The speakers represent a wealth of experience at individual and institutional levels to entice real progress on all fronts. They will discuss best practices for safeguarding a country's economy and addressing critical cybersecurity issues, which are fundamental to Egypt's economic and national security. Among the speakers are Dr. Ahmed Abdul Hafez, Chairman of the Executive Bureau of the Egyptian Supreme Cybersecurity Council; H.E. Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti Head of Cyber Security for the United Arab Emirates Government; Dr. Sherif Hazem CBE Sub Governor for Cybersecurity; Dr. Khaled Eldestawy, Vice Chairman of the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company for Distribution Companies Affairs, representing the Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy; Dr. Heung Youl Youm Chairman of the ITU-T Study Group 17, South Korea; Eng. Badar Ali Al-Salehi Director General of Oman National CERT and Head of ITU Regional Cyber Security Center; Dr. Haji Amirudin Abdul Wahab, Chief Executive Officer of Cybersecurity in Malaysia; and Bassam Maharem President, Jordan’s National Cyber Security Center NCSC-JO.


The conference is set to feature a strong global presence with notable institutions such as UNICEF, which will conduct a high-level seminar on the third and final day of the conference. The conference and exhibition is sponsored prominent organizations including Huawei, Microsoft, Liquid C2, Cyshield, eFinance, Fortinet and Kaspersky. 


Egypt Cybersecurity & Data Intelligence Systems Conference and Expo (CDIS-EGYPT) aims to bring together local, regional and international key players in the field to highlight the latest trends and technologies across various industries to enhance cybersecurity expertise, showcase potential investment opportunities in Egypt to regional and international cyber security organizations, provide an educational platform for enthusiasts and university students in Egypt through keynote speeches and discussions on the latest technological advancements, and place strategies on a global context and develop collaborative solutions which are critical towards intelligence and national security challenges.


CDIS-EGYPT will also witness the launch of WE Innovate Hackathon dedicated to cybersecurity entrepreneurs under the auspices of the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) and the Egyptian Computer Emergency Readiness Team (EG-CERT) to support and empower youth interested in the cybersecurity and information technology field.
