Cairo, Egypt, 19 November 2024 – Engineering exports in Egypt surged by 25.6% during the period from January to September 2024, reaching $3.9 billion compared to $3.1 billion in the same period of 2023, according to the Engineering Export Council of Egypt (EEC).
The council's monthly report also highlighted a 15% increase in exports for September 2024, recording $446.2 million compared to $387.7 million in September 2023.
Eng. Sherif El Sayad, Chairman of the EEC, announced that the council aims to achieve $5.25 billion in exports by the end of 2024, with a target of $6 billion for 2025. He emphasized that the council's strategy seeks annual growth of at least 20%, aligning with Egypt's broader goal of boosting total exports to $145 billion.
The report outlined the top-performing sectors in 2024 (up to September) compared to the same period in 2023:
Cables: Up by 33.6%
Electrical Appliances: Increased by 8.1%
Auto Components: Rose by 24.4%
Home Appliances: Grew by 5.8%
Electrical and Electronic Industries: Increased by 9.3%
Transportation Equipment: Jumped by an impressive 107%

Europe: United Kingdom, Turkey, France, Germany, Georgia, Italy, Czech Republic, Spain, Ireland, Slovenia
Asia: Saudi Arabia, UAE, Iraq, Lebanon, Azerbaijan, Qatar
Africa: Libya, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria
