Cairo, Egypt – August 28th, 2025, Cairo Festival City Mall (CFCM), owned and operated by Al-Futtaim Real Estate, continues to lead Egypt’s retail sector in sustainability, for the fifth consecutive year, achieving an impressive rise in recycling efficiency from 45% in 2021 to 89% in the first half of 2025.
Over the past five years, the mall has successfully managed more than 1,900 metric tons of waste, diverting 1,557 tons for recycling and setting new benchmarks for environmental responsibility. As the first mall in Egypt to achieve ISO 14001:2015 certification, CFCM combines advanced sorting technologies, innovative waste management practices, and inclusive job creation – generating over 60 direct and indirect green jobs.
With additional milestones such as installing three EV charging stations in H1 2025, CFCM continues to prove that sustainability and innovation go hand in hand, shaping a greener, smarter future for retail.
