Export Development Bank of Egypt (EBank) Renews Its Partnership with Ibrahim A. Badran Foundation for the Sixth Consecutive Year to Deliver Healthcare to Egypt’s Most Remote Communities

Cairo, 10 August 2025 – The Export Development Bank of Egypt (EBank) is pleased to announce the renewal of its impactful partnership with the Ibrahim A. Badran Foundation, a leading medical charity, for the sixth consecutive year. The partnership aims to continue providing high-quality healthcare to underserved communities across Egypt through mobile medical convoys, satellite clinics, and public health awareness campaigns.

This renewed agreement builds on a longstanding collaboration that began in 2020. Over the years, EBank and the Foundation have reached thousands of patients in remote areas, providing healthcare with dignity, compassion, and excellence. Between 2020 and 2024, the partnership treated 26,548 patients, exceeding original targets by 128%. It deployed 16 medical convoys, operated 57 mobile clinic days, and organized awareness campaigns reaching more than 10,500 individuals in 43 villages across eight governorates. The total number of beneficiaries exceeded 37,000 people nationwide.

In 2025, the partnership aims to expand its reach in Aswan, Giza, and Minya through the deployment of 3 medical convoys and 45 clinic operation days, providing healthcare services to 7,500 patients and health awareness to more than 5,600 individuals.

On this occasion, Ms. Ola Ismail, Founder and CEO of the Ibrahim A. Badran Foundation, stated: “We are proud of this ongoing partnership with the bank, which has become a true model of collaboration between the financial sector and civil society in serving vulnerable communities. Over the past years, we have reached thousands of patients in villages and remote areas, delivering healthcare that saves lives and brings hope. On behalf of every life touched, we thank EBank for their trust and support, and we look forward to making an even greater impact in the year ahead.”

Dr. Ahmed Galal, CEO and Managing Director of EBank, stated that corporate social responsibility is a core pillar of the bank’s strategy, grounded in its belief in contributing meaningfully to community development and sustainable progress. He emphasized the importance of continuous and diverse contributions, particularly in the healthcare sector, by supporting medical institutions and hospitals, and providing treatment, medical equipment, diagnostic tools, and prosthetic devices. This partnership affirms the bank’s vital role in supporting impactful community initiatives and its firm belief that healthcare is a basic human right, and that investing in people is the true path to inclusive and sustainable development.

Founded in 1983, EBank was established to support and grow Egypt’s exports in industrial, agricultural, commercial, and service sectors. Over the decades, the bank has become the leading financial engine behind export activities in Egypt, thanks to its diversified investments and strategy for sustainable growth. EBank plays a key role in enabling Egyptian products to access global markets by financing export-oriented and import substitution projects, participating in syndicated loans and equity investments, and offering a full range of banking, savings, and investment products for individuals and businesses at competitive rates to meet all client needs.

The Ibrahim A. Badran Foundation was established in 2014 as a non-profit medical organization by the family of the late Dr. Ibrahim Badran, supported by his friends and colleagues, to continue his humanitarian mission of providing healthcare to those who cannot afford it. The Foundation is guided by the belief that healthcare is a right, not a privilege, and operates under the motto: “We treat patients in the farthest corners of Egypt.” Over the past 11 years, the Foundation has conducted more than 910 medical convoys in 26 governorates, serving over 926,000 patients. It has facilitated 2,100 surgeries and 8,000 surgical referrals, thanks to a highly specialized medical team in more than 17 disciplines, and over 1,800 volunteers. The Foundation has also established 10 permanent clinics offering regular services in underserved rural communities. Its partnership with EBank remains one of its most impactful and enduring collaborations, now entering its sixth year.
