Cairo, September 28, 2025 – As part of the third day of Cityscape Egypt 2025, Cityscape Talks hosted a session titled “Your tiny space reimagined - Interior design, tips, tricks and secrets like no other” which explored innovative solutions for transforming the most of small spaces. The session was presented by Mona Hussein, CEO and Founder of Mona Hussein Design House - MHDH, who shared practical tips to help individuals and families maximize every square meter with intelligence and efficiency.

Mona Hussein highlighted that the importance of smart design for small spaces is growing in light of rising property prices and increasing urban density. She explained that advancements in design and technology have made it possible to achieve comfort and multifunctionality in limited spaces, adding that lifestyle changes after the COVID-19 pandemic have further emphasized the need for more flexible housing solutions.

As a practical example, she presented a 90-square-meter apartment redesign, where she restructured the layout by adding and removing certain walls to create a more comfortable living space that allows a family to reside there for a longer period. The design included an open kitchen to encourage family gatherings, an adjacent dining area, as well as transforming the terrace into an additional seating space. It also incorporated dedicated laundry and smart storage areas.

She also stressed the importance of choosing colors that align with the client’s taste, along with furniture tailored for small spaces such as multifunctional beds, shoe cabinets, and optimized kitchen partitions that provide practical storage with easy access. Hussein emphasized that good organization and smart planning, not necessarily larger space are the keys to true comfort.

She explained that working closely with clients through personalized sessions helps identify the needs of each family member, allowing for customized solutions that balance aesthetics with functionality. Concluding the session, she highlighted that the true value of a space, no matter how small, lies in the design details that make everyday life easier and more comfortable, and it is an added value that directly enhances the quality of living for its residents.
