Strong Growth and Market Expansion.. Egyptian Food Industries Exports Rise from $2.7 to $6.8 Billion Over 10 Years

 


Cairo, 25 February 2026: Egyptian food industries exports jumped to a new record level in 2025, reaffirming the sector’s growing role as one of the key drivers of foreign currency earnings and industrial growth. Exports reached $6.8 billion in 2025, an increase of $711 million compared to 2024, which recorded $6.1 billion, achieving an annual growth rate of 12%, the highest level ever recorded for food industries exports. The Egyptian food product continues to expand its global presence, driven by growing demand, improved corporate competitiveness, and the expansion of destination markets.


The Food Export Council confirmed that export performance during the period 2015–2025 reflects sustained growth, rising from $2.7 billion in 2015 to $2.7 billion in 2016, then $2.8 billion in 2017, $3.0 billion in 2018, and $3.3 billion in 2019. Exports remained stable at $3.3 billion in 2020, before increasing to $4.0 billion in 2021, then $4.6 billion in 2022, $5.4 billion in 2023, reaching $6.1 billion in 2024, and finally $6.8 billion in 2025.
