Al-Futtaim Real Estate in Egypt continues to grow its social impact footprint in Q1 2026 through Festival Cares

Cairo,3 May 2026: Al-Futtaim Real Estate in Egypt, owner and developer of Cairo Festival City and Cairo Festival City Mall, announced the continuation of its integrated corporate social responsibility strategy during the first quarter of 2026 under the umbrella of Festival Cares, reflecting its commitment to creating sustainable social impact and enhancing quality of life within the community through effective partnerships with several leading development and charitable institutions. These activities and initiatives also encouraged residents and visitors to participate as active partners in supporting and delivering these partnerships.

Throughout the first quarter of 2026, Al-Futtaim Real Estate in Egypt implemented a number of ongoing humanitarian initiatives aimed at strengthening the culture of giving and community participation among Cairo Festival City residents and Mall visitors. These included several collaborative initiatives with civil society organizations, such as its partnership with Resala Charity Organization through the allocation of a donation box inside Cairo Festival City Mall, allowing visitors to contribute directly to funding community support programs, charitable outreach efforts, and initiatives that assist vulnerable groups in need. The company also partnered with the Egyptian Clothing Bank to collect clothing from residents and distribute it to deserving families, in a step that highlights the role of the community in addressing the needs of the most vulnerable groups and reinforcing a culture of solidarity.

During the holy month of Ramadan, Al-Futtaim Real Estate in Egypt intensified its humanitarian efforts through a range of targeted initiatives designed to support the most vulnerable families and promote the spirit of social solidarity. These efforts included two impactful initiatives in partnership with the Egyptian Food Bank, designed to strengthen food security support for vulnerable communities.

The first initiative, Al-Futtaim residents actively participated in packing more than 200 food supply boxes, which were then distributed directly to families in need, ensuring timely and essential support.

The second initiative, “Free Mart,” introduced a more dignified and flexible model of assistance through a points-based system. Beneficiaries received credits via SMS on their mobile phones, allowing them to access and purchase essential food items directly from dedicated marts according to their individual needs and preferences, offering both choice and dignity in the process.

In parallel, the company continued to support initiatives that strengthen family cohesion through the continuation of its partnership with Misr El Kheir Foundation, with activations aligned with Mother’s Day to support indebted women. These efforts aim to help women affected by financial debt regain stability and rebuild their lives, while also enabling them to reunite with their families. Over the past seven years, the company has supported more than 155 mothers across Egypt. These efforts reflect Al-Futtaim Real Estate’s commitment to creating sustainable community impact by embedding a culture of giving and participation during Ramadan and beyond.

In addition, for the second consecutive year, the company partnered with Al Reda Wal Nour Foundation on Orphan’s Day, contributing to bringing joy to more than 70 children through a dedicated entertainment program that included spending the day at Cairo Festival City Mall and Cairo Festival City, alongside the distribution of gifts and toys to bring smiles to their faces and happiness to their hearts.

As part of the continuation of these integrated community efforts and the advancement of the social sustainability agenda adopted by Al-Futtaim Real Estate in Egypt, the company’s management organized a specialized training program for security personnel on how to support visitors with hearing and visual impairments during emergency situations. This training was launched as part of a strategic vision aimed at embedding the principles of social inclusion as a core element of visitor experience management, rather than treating it solely as a CSR activity. This direction reflects the company’s commitment to providing a safe and accessible environment for everyone without exception, and to ensuring that its teams are fully prepared to respond efficiently and swiftly to a wide range of human needs.

“CSR is a fundamental pillar of our vision for building integrated and sustainable communities. We are committed to ensuring that our initiatives extend beyond direct support to enable individual empowerment and drive lasting improvements in quality of life.” remarked Eng. Ahmed El Halawany, Managing Director of Al-Futtaim Real Estate in Egypt. “Throughout the year, we launch many impactful initiatives that aim to support the most vulnerable groups in Egyptian society and reinforce the concepts of inclusion and sustainability, while also encouraging residents, visitors and employees to engage in community experiences that create real and tangible impact in the lives of many. We also believe that effective partnerships with development and charitable institutions represent a critical pillar in achieving sustainable impact and embedding a culture of giving as an integral part of the social fabric.”

The 2026 efforts so far are built on a strong track record of initiatives implemented by Al-Futtaim Real Estate in Egypt during 2025. In October 2025, the company partnered with the Ministry of Health and Baheya Foundation to host an early detection truck, in a move aimed at supporting women’s health and raising awareness of the importance of early detection and regular screening, in addition to awareness posters across the mall to support breast cancer awareness initiatives.

In November of the same year, Cairo Festival City collaborated with Cairo Runners to organize an event attended by more than 1,200 participants, with the aim of raising awareness of diabetes and encouraging residents to adopt a healthy lifestyle. During the same month, a joint initiative was also carried out in collaboration with Big Scrappers, engaging Cairo Festival City employees in a creative scrap-art recycling challenge, which helped foster creativity, raise environmental awareness, enhance employee engagement, and further embed a culture of sustainability and innovation within the workplace.

These initiatives underscore Al-Futtaim Real Estate in Egypt’s year-round commitment to its community role through an integrated model that brings together the private sector and development institutions to generate broad social impact, while reinforcing a culture of giving and participation across the Cairo Festival City community and its visitors, including Cairo Festival City Mall.
