Riwaq Developments unveils new brand identity, expands in ORIN in New Obour city

Cairo, Egypt , 17 August 2026 - Riwaq Developments has introduced its new corporate identity, replacing its former name, “Emaar,” as the company embarks on a new expansion phase focused on growing its land portfolio and launching a diverse range of residential and commercial projects. The company will focus on selecting locations with strong investment and service potential, led by ORIN Mall in New Obour city.

Extensive Experience and Diverse Project Portfolio

The new identity builds on the company’s track record and accumulated experience in Egypt’s real estate market, which began with the development of residential communities before expanding into commercial and service-oriented projects and, eventually, mixed-use developments. ORIN Mall in New Obour represents the first project marking the company’s new phase under the “Riwaq” name.

The company has a strong track record, including several key projects that represent successive stages in its journey through the Egyptian real estate market:

Green Plaza Compound: The Foundation of the Company’s Residential Experience

Green Plaza compound represents one of the key pillars of the company’s track record in residential development. The project comprises 11 residential buildings and reflects an integrated approach to planning, construction and the delivery of living spaces and services designed to meet residents’ daily needs.

The development helped strengthen the company’s operational expertise across the entire project lifecycle, from understanding customers’ needs and planning spaces to construction and handover, ultimately creating a fully established residential community. This experience reflects the company’s vision of creating integrated living environments that combine comfort, privacy and essential services.

Verdance Mall: Delivered in the Heart of New Obour City

The company further strengthened its presence in commercial development sector through Verdance Mall, strategically located directly opposite the New Obour City Authority, providing easy accessibility and high visibility while benefiting from its proximity to one of the city’s key service and administrative hubs.

Riwaq successfully completed and delivered the project within approximately 12 months. According to company data, Verdance is the only mall delivered in New Obour City in 2026, highlighting the company’s ability to adhere to execution timelines and translate its development plans into completed projects.

The project also reflects Riwaq’s growing expertise in developing commercial spaces tailored to the needs of emerging urban communities.

Aspire Mall: An Integrated Commercial and Services Hub

The company continued its expansion in the commercial development sector with Aspire Mall, which was developed as an integrated hub for retail and services within its surrounding urban community, catering to residents’ needs and accommodating a diverse range of commercial and service activities.

The project builds on the experience gained through the development of Verdance, reflecting a more comprehensive approach to creating commercial destinations that serve surrounding communities while offering diverse opportunities for businesses and investors, thereby enhancing the project’s operation and economic value.

Mahmoud Othman: “Riwaq Is More Than Just a New Name”

Eng. Mahmoud Othman, Founder and CEO of Riwaq Developments, said, “The launch of the Riwaq name represents more than simply changing the company’s name or visual identity. It marks a new chapter in our history and reflects a clearer vision for our future. We started with integrated residential projects, then expanded into commercial and service-oriented developments, successfully transforming our plans into completed projects on the ground.”

He added, “In the coming phase, we aim to expand our portfolio of land and diversify our project offerings, while maintaining the principles on which we have built our customers’ trust, foremost among them quality planning, speed of execution, commitment, and carefully studying the actual needs of each area before developing any project.”

He noted, “Choosing ORIN as the starting point for our new journey under the Riwaq name reflects our new vision. The development does not simply offer real estate units; rather, it aims to create an integrated destination for business, retail, healthcare and everyday life in one of the fastest-growing areas of New Obour city.”

Why Did the Company Choose the Name “Riwaq”?

The company selected the name “Riwaq” for its architectural and cultural connotations, which are deeply rooted in Arab identity. Traditionally, a riwaq is a shaded space that connects different parts of a place, offering comfort while encouraging movement, interaction, and connection among people.

The name reflects the company’s development philosophy of creating more than just buildings. It aims to develop interconnected spaces that enhance people’s experiences, encourage interaction, and create a meaningful relationship between communities and their surroundings.

The concept of “Riwaq” also bridges authenticity and modernity. While rooted in a well-established architectural element, the name simultaneously conveys openness, continuity, and the pursuit of new horizons—values that align with the company’s strategy during its upcoming expansion phase.

The logo features fluid, interconnected Arabic lettering that reflects the connection between people and place, as well as between the company’s heritage and its future. The brand’s color palette combines confidence with warmth: deep blue represents stability and professionalism, while earthy and copper tones evoke authenticity, value, and a sense of human connection.

A Distinctive Visual Presence across Obour’s Streets

The launch of Riwaq’s new identity was accompanied by a wide-ranging advertising campaign across the entrances to Obour and New Obour city, featuring a series of road signs and billboards with a distinctive visual identity and bold compositions.

The campaign stood out for its use of colors and designs that differed from the traditional style of real estate advertising, sparking curiosity around the new brand and strengthening its presence among city residents, customers, and investors.

The campaign was not solely aimed at announcing the company’s name change; it delivered an integrated message connecting the company’s previous experience with its future ambitions, while paving the way for the launch of ORIN as the first project under the company’s new phase.

ORIN.. A New Chapter in New Obour City

ORIN Mall marks the company’s first launch under the “Riwaq” name and represents a key pillar of its strategy to strengthen its presence in New Obour city, based on a mixed-use concept that brings together retail, administrative, and medical properties.

The project is being developed on approximately 2,500 sqm in the heart of Al Fayrouz District, close to several key roads and residential areas, including the Eighth District, Road 10, the Central Ring Road, and Belbeis Road.

ORIN will feature retail units on the ground floor, commercial and administrative spaces on the first floor, and an integrated medical center on the second floor, creating a diverse mix of activities and ensuring multiple sources of footfall and visitor traffic throughout the project.

The project will feature contemporary architectural façades, outdoor spaces and open terraces, a dedicated restaurants and cafés area, a children’s zone, and a fountain at the entrance, in addition to parking spaces and a basement garage.

The project is being launched under the marketing concept “For Business. For Care. For Life.” — a statement that captures ORIN’s vision as a destination that brings together business, healthcare services, and everyday experiences in one place, catering to the needs of residents, business owners, and investors in an area witnessing rapid urban expansion.

The company disclosed that the launch of ORIN represents more than the introduction of a new project; it marks the first practical application of Riwaq’s strategy for its next phase, which focuses on developing purpose-driven spaces and delivering projects designed to operate sustainably, endure over time, and create tangible value for their users and surrounding communities.
